Alonso racing for the victims of attacks!

Fernando Alonso is looking at this weekend's Malaysian Gran Prix as a great way to honour the victims of the recent attacks in Madrid.

Alonso was in the Maldives training hard in preparation for the demanding teamperatures at Sepang when 12 bombs killed more than 200 people and injured 1.400 in traisn ins everal parts of Madrid on March 11th.

"I was in the Maldives and it was difficult to have any news because we didn't have any internet, phones, etc, etc. But I spoke with my home one day and they told me and I felt so shocked, sad because it had happened to normal people, like you, like me, workers, kids going to school. It was a sad and difficult moment. We are living at a difficult time around the world, everywhere, not only in Spain. And I want to express here my condolences to all the families. It's difficult for Spain and for the whole world, I think." He said.

"To honour the victims I will put a black lace over the Spanish flag on my helmet and I will wear a black armband since is the only thing I can put on my car." He added.

Alonso would love to win in Malaysia to be able to dedicate it to the victims and their families but is aware that a Formual 1 win it is quite hard.

"Victories are always very hard in Formula One, but it's one of the best moments of the year to have one first place." He concluded.
