Toyota Technical Director Chassis, Mike Gascoyne, has recently praised the new car R24 from Renault that saw the light on January 21st at the Barcelona track.

In a talk with the Spanish newspaper As the outspoken Engineer has praised the new chassis from Renault:

"The chassis is quite good." He said. "The only doubt is the engine and its reliability. The designing team that is left on the Renault team with Bob Bell leading is excellent. Bob was who hired me at McLaren a years back. I expect them to remain competitive".

Gascoyne has always been a great fan of Fernando Alonso. Would he be interested in having the Spaniard at his new team?

"To hire him for Toyota? I am sure that Flavio Briatore would love to talk about it. But first we have to develop our car so the great drivers want to drive for us. Fernando is a great driver, on the level of the great ones like Michael Schumacher". He added.
