Trulli on top on a total Renault day!

Jarno Trulli finished on top in Friday's qualifying session at the Japanese Grand Prix. It's the Italian second consecutive pole on Friday after setting the fastest time on Friday at the US Grand Prix two weeks ago.

The Italian was marginally faster than Ralf Schumacher who finished second just ahead of his brother Michael who finished close to 0.2 seconds slower than Trulli.

Alonso finished 6th on a day dominated again by the Renault F1 team. Allan McNish led the time in the test session ahead of Alonso and Trulli while the Italian set the best time on the practice session earlier in the morning. The McLarens of David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen finished 4th and 5th today with Barrichello ending 7th just ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya.

Renault has high hopes for this race as they believe the track perfectly suits the R23B chassis and both Fernando Alonso and Technical Director Mike Gascoyne have targeted the podium for this weekend.
