Spanish Renault F1 driver Fernando Alonso continued his good form by setting yesterday the best time at the testing session in Jerez. Renault will continue the test today in preparation of the upcoming Grand Prix.
After running for 103 laps and 456 kilometers around the Spanish track Alonso set a best time of 1.20.425. He was followed by Da Matta and by Raikkonen who was testing the new McLaren car.
Mike Gascoyne, Renault F1 Technical Director, was satisfied on the results:
“A very, very productive first day, we had a trouble-free session, and Fernando’s lap-times look very competitive. In addition, we obtained useful results from the test items on the car.” He said.
