Bernie: Alonso will be World Champion soon!

Bernie Ecclestone, Formula 1 boss, also has faith in the abilities of the young Spaniard. On an interview for the Spanish Spot Newspaper “As” he hailed Alonso as a future World Champion. His performance at Spain has won praise from everyone at the paddock. Bernie was also one of them.

He also had nice words for Ferrari:
“I am not surprised that Ferrari won at Barcelona. The new car has a high level of reliability and if it would not have been like that I have no doubts that the winner at Barcelona would have been a Spaniard. However, to be among the best is a great effort by him.” He said. “Alonso has all the qualities, a good team and I have no doubt that in a not so distant future he will win races and will be World Champion.”
Ecclestone still thinks that Renault has to improve in order to reach Ferrari:
“If Renault and Williams want to have any option they have to improve to be on the level of Ferrari.”
Ecclestone was also quite happy of the organization of the Spanish GP:
“The level (of the Grand Prix) has been exceptional. The people that manages it is great and with a great professionalism.” He added: “This is the 13th time we have been at Barcelona and maybe I have seen one of the greatest organizations that I can remember. I saw this circuit being born, I have seen it grow to what it is today and I feel proud of it.”
