Renault F1 showed that this can be their circuit by placing two cars within top 3 at this morning's free practice. Trulli and Alonso trailed Ralf Schumacher who set the fastest time with a 1.17.105.

Earlier in the morning also set the best time on the private testing followed by Fisichella and Alonso.

Alonso is quite motivated for his home GP but so far Trulli has shown how quick he is.

Both cars are proving quite strong at the Montmeló track ahead of today's qualifying session.

The new Ferrari 2003-GA was not on the front line with both Barrichello and Schumacher well off the pace. Also on the back was Kimi Raikkonen. The leader of the WDC could only post the 18th best time only ahead of both Minardis.
