Even though David Coulthard publically declared a month ago that his good friend, Jacques Villeneuve, could walk away from Formula One after the San Marino Grand Prix, he has now lashed out at the media for their relentless attacks on the former World Champ.

Coulthard revealed to Reuters that he is 'disgusted' with the latest stories in the press. He claimed the stories are 'diminishing the respect' for Villeneuve's past achievements.

Of course the best way for Villeneuve to calm the media down is to put in a solid race for SAUBER this weekend. Upgrades to the C24 have given him renewed confidence in the car and the team and have given him optimism for the race.
