Red Bull/Ferrari Deal Hints at Things to Come

In a surprise announcement at Imola this morning, Ferrari revealed they have a contract to supply Red Bull Racing with engines for 2006 and 2007.

It has been suspected for some time that SAUBER and Ferrari would be ending their nine-year partnership after this season. This morning's announcement makes that even more likely as Ferrari is not keen on supplying two teams again.

There have been no recent developments in the SAUBER engine saga, but BMW is still the most likely candidate. The rumours go even one step further saying BMW could buy all or part of the Swiss team. An official announcement is not likely until the summer.
