John McGuinness has split with AIM Racing in BSB

It has been announced that John McGuinness has indeed quit his team - AIM Racing - in the British Superbike series, as his disappointing results from the last three rounds have not been up to his standards.
John has not been giving the bike supplied sufficient good placings - having only qualified on the fourth or fifth rows, although his bike had been given an extra 14bhp boost by engine guru Steve Mellor.

John himself admitted he hadn’t been able to hook up with the machine, even though he won two races at this year’s Isle of Man TT on the bike.
Team owner Alistair Flanagan said, “John is an outstanding road racer, but is not hungry enough to compete at the BSB level compared to how hungry he is for road racing. Things have moved on to another level compared to last year, and you must be super fit and willing to push for the best placings, and at least be in the top twelve. We are in talks to replace John, and will be announcing his replacement forthwith. We wish John every success for the future.”
With the Sendo team now having been bought out by a rival mobile phone company, Steve Plater is still without a ride, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Steve aboard John’s bike in the near future - speculation on my part, but Steve needs to race and has obviously shown he has not lost the will to win at this year’s North West 200. Riding the Honda FireBlade that Karl Harris runs in BSB, Steve had a great duel with race winner Michael Rutter at the NW.
