Bering supports fastest woman racer in the UK for 2005: Maria Costello receives sponsorship from Bering motorcycle clothing company.
The 2005 motorcycle racing season is underway, and the fastest woman racer in the UK, Maria Costello, is pleased to announce her new 2005 sponsor, motorcycle clothing company Bering. The French based firm is providing financial support for Maria’s racing season, where she will be competing at selected rounds of the British Superbike Championship in the support class - Supersport Cup, making her debut at the North West 200 and, due to changes at the TT, will be competing at the Manx Grand Prix.
The Chairman of Bering, Olivier de Roaldes, said, “We decided to support Maria for 2005 as she is a fantastic racer and her achievements so far are proof of this. Bering is delighted to be offering her some financial assistance for this season, and we are looking forward to Maria making many more great achievements this year. We also are pleased to have such a well-known face in the racing paddock working with us to develop the Bering brand across the UK.”
At 27 years of age, she is not just a pretty face - Maria is the fastest woman racer in the UK. The petite blonde holds the Guinness World Record for the female making the fastest lap around the infamous Isle of Man TT. Her career spans a number of TT, Manx GP and short circuit successes. Maria has a busy 2005 season ahead as she plans to take on a number of rounds of the British Supersport Cup onboard a Honda CBR600RR. It is one of the world’s best domestic championships, and Maria will be the only female in this class. She will also take on the mighty North West 200 for the first time in her career, and head back to the Isle of Man for the Manx GP in August.

They have also produced a fantastic new set of leathers for me this season, that I can’t wait to get into them for my first race.”
