Sam Warren and Naturally Best take on the world

The Vivaldi British Supermoto Championship, Naturally Best Rider of the Day award, has been the catalyst for the development of a World Championship programme for Sam Warren, starting in Belgium on the 8th May.

The SR / DCR Husaberg rider has secured an entry in the S1 class, with help from fellow Husaberg rider Fred Fiorentino’s contacts. At this stage, Warren and the team will be contesting four rounds with possibly more to follow.

Warren said that the Vivaldi Naturally Best Rider of the Day award had spurred the team on to step up to the World Championship.

“We were looking at the World rounds, and Fred’s people were kind enough to sort an entry and licence upgrade for the S1 class in Belgium. The Rider of the Day award came along just at the right time, and from this we’ve managed to secure some more backing from sponsors and family, which has enabled us to commit to four events at this stage.”

Warren said that the SR / DCR Husaberg team had modest expectations and were treating the foray onto the world stage as an opportunity to demonstrate they have what it takes.

“We are going to take this one step at a time. The first objective is to qualify in S1, and if all goes well pick up a few points; anything else will be a bonus. Our aim is to demonstrate that we are good enough for the World Championship and see where things lead us.”

Warren’s programme includes round two in Belgium, the Czech Republic (22nd May), Austria (19th June) and Germany (10th July).
