New format for the 2005 Virgin Yamaha R6 Cup

Starting from the first race at Brands Hatch, taking place on Easter Monday, there will be a new format to the Virgin Yamaha R6 Cup series, designed to bring young riders through into Superbikes.

The leader from each of the races will be running their bike with an all new yellow fairing, so they will be easier to spot during the race. Not unlike the yellow jersey affair that cycling’s Tour de France use for the leader of each stage. This will undoubtedly make it easier to see who is leading the championship, from a racers’ and spectators’ view.
