Bikegirl Ltd / all-girl Feisty Racing are licenced to thrill: If you think that winter gives you a break from racing, then think again...

Eight of the twelve strong Feisty Racing all-girl motorcycle race team went to Snetterton race circuit in Norfolk this weekend to obtain ACU licences - which allows them to compete in this season’s club races. It was a very cold but successful race school, which included the opportunity to try their first ever race start from grid positions, followed by a mini race. Never has a grid been graced by so much pink leather.

The race school was a 50/50 mix of classroom sessions and instructor-led track time in blizzard conditions. Top Feisty Racer Deb Cartwright was instructing for the school. On both mornings we were greeted with a white dusting which delayed the proceedings, and gave everyone time to build snowmen and have snowball fights. Can you believe we still went out on track?!

Zoe Docherty showed great potential for her Rookie 400 season by posting the fastest lap time of her group on the Saturday. Her enthusiasm shone when, undaunted by the two inches of snow on Sunday, she declared that the snow wouldn’t stop her from participating in the ACU testing.

Sarah Quin had an unfortunate first crash after getting too close to the edge of the track and sliding on some snow, so the bike needed a small amount of bending back into shape, and Quinny needed a chill out session to calm the nerves.

Despite some minor mechanical problems, and a few close shave high sides, Leila battled on in the ever changing conditions to put in some good, consistent laps. Tazzie, Susie and Lottie Pleasants completed the race school with flying colours and had a trouble free weekend.

A huge thank you goes to the following:
· Whitsie for being dad (again), his engineering prowess and feeding us
· Terry Calcott (the Windowfilm Company) and son Tom for getting up at 5:30 to bring number boards, helping the team and also for painting all those body kits and pink wheels
· Michael Gray for his continued and enthusiastic support and assistance
· Friends and family: Owen, the Pleasants
· Bemsee marshals, scrutineers, instructors and organisational staff
· Dean Ellison for the loan of the caravan - we would have frozen without it
