Neil Hodgson goes Stateside for 2005

Neil Hodgson is on the verge of creating history in the world of motorcycling, having signed with Parts Unlimited Ducati Austin Team, alongside Eric Bostrom, in the AMA series for 2005.

Neil will be riding the Ducati 999 factory backed machine, as will Eric, in the AMA series, after experiencing a difficult year in MotoGP. Neil stated, “It’s a relief to be back where I belong, with Ducati Corse.”

Ducati have not won the AMA series for a number of years, so this is a challenge that will be good for Neil - with a possible history making feat of winning the British Superbike, World Superbike and the AMA series?

No other rider has ever accomplished such a task and, with Neil being back on the 999 Ducati, a machine he is very comfortable on, the possibility is certainly there.

Neil’s results in the MotoGP this year have not been good, with a best finish of eighth, and finishing seventeenth overall in the series.

Neil stated that he cannot just race to make up numbers and needed to win, so he is well up for getting the best from the Ducati 999 machine. His first appearance will be at Daytona, scheduled for 3rd-5th January 2005.
