Brands Hatch review - D&B Ducati Racing

Dean Ellison suffered another nightmare few days down at Brands Hatch at the weekend. Things weren’t all so bad, as many positive aspects were gained from the situations that occurred.

Dean’s bad luck started on the Friday when his D&B Ducati blew two engines in the afternoon practice session on. His weekend hadn’t even begun, yet it was cut so short so early on.

Spare parts for Dean’s four-year-old Ducati 996 unfortunately didn’t arrive prior to Brands, and the team suffered as a consequence. Dean and the team have sat back and analysed the whole situation, and Dean will be sitting Rockingham out to ensure that they regroup and come back onto the scene fully refreshed and raring to go.

Instead of participating in the racing on Sunday, Dean paid a visit to Fred Clarke in the commentary box for both races. Giving a view from a rider to the crowd, and also getting some good PR for Alcatel in the process.

Guests of the D&B team were disappointed not to be seeing their star man ride, but the racing was the closest it’s been all year, they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a good day out. Although Dean was not taking part they were inspired by the close racing from Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne and former British Superbike Champion, John Reynolds.

D&B are confident that this is not the end and just the beginning. All aspects of the team have been discussed and they remain focused that when they come back in the second half of the season they will be more determined than ever.
