Ralf and Jarno upbeat over the new TF106B

Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli had a chance to fully explore their new B Spec racer over the Paul Ricard test. The pair covered good mileage in perpetration for its debut at the Monaco Grand Prix, and although this is just the start, the pair are confident it’s a step in the right direction.

Jarno Trulli was the first to sing the teams praises. “I can say that the car is showing potential. It has a stiffer monocoque and structure and I feel more grip with this car. We mainly worked on set-up so I could get used to the car and my times show that we were pretty good in comparison to the other teams.”

Ralf Schumacher was also extremely pleased with the new TF106B. “I believe we made good progress and although the B-car specification is not a whole new aerodynamic package, it should nevertheless help us gain a few tenths in time over the long run.”

The first real test for the TF106B is at the Monaco Grand Prix, where the majority of the well-funded teams bring a new aerodynamic package to help with the low speed, high down force configuration. The British Grand Prix afterwards should give a clearer indication to where the new car is against the competition.
