Bahrain: Toyota look forward to season opener

Toyota might not have set the winter test sheet alight, but they are confident that when their cars roll out in Bahrain, they will be near the top. Jarno Trulli aims to repeat his 2005 success of a podium, whilst Ralf is optimistic of a good result.

Speaking about the season ahead (including Bahrain) Ralf Schumacher was all smiles and full of optimism which he lacked at the start of the 2005 season. "At the moment everything is running positively and as planned," Ralf said, "The car is consistent and reliable, I feel good driving it, and now I will head to Bahrain on Wednesday, where the season will finally get underway."

Jarno Trulli was also in a pretty upbeat mood about the teams’ chances in Bahrain. "I've only had good results when I've raced in Bahrain, particularly last year when I made the podium in second place," he said. "It would be wonderful to achieve something similar again, so that is why everyone at Toyota has worked all winter to be as prepared as possible for this first grand prix of the year."

From winter testing, its become clear that there will be 5 or 6 teams battling for race victories this year, one of those teams are Toyota, and if the boys in red and white have done their homework, the results should reveal all by the chequered flag.
