Toyota remained in the same positions it was left with yesterday, with Jarno Trulli out pacing teammate Ralf Schumacher for tenth and eleventh. Up front, de la Rosa returned McLaren to the top, but used a V10 engine in the process. Renault and Fisichella were second fastest in their 2006 Renault.

Fisichella investigated a rear wing problem which hindered Heikki Kovalainen yesterday, Heikki running a different program to Fisichella finished the day sixth quickest.

Mark Webber showed some promising speed in his Williams Cosworth to go third fastest, just ahead of Honda driver Jenson Button in fourth.

BMW also continued an impressive test, with Villeneuve and Heidfeld taking fifth and sixth, ahead of Williams driver Nico Rosberg.

Toyota again found themselves in tenth and eleventh positions on the track, but both Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher remain optimistic as their TF106 completed over 200 laps and is becoming much better suited to its Bridgestone tyres.
