All-or-Nothing bid to snatch back 3rd

It was a dream start to the 2005 season for Toyota. After four years of sweat, blood and tears, Toyota execs and employees finally came to a year full of sweat, blood and tears. However, the 2005-shed tears were tears of joy.

 

This year has been history in the making for Toyota. Most notably fans have witnessed the team’s first pole position at the controversy-surrounded US Grand Prix, and their first podium at the second race in at Malaysia.

 

It’s not all been good, however. A string of near-misses for Trulli mid-season has saw podiums and points fall from easy grasp. More recently, in Belgium a very brash decision by all involved saw a possible first win fall from the team’s reach.

 

But, as we draw to a close on this packed season, it’s not the time to dwell on what could have been. We must look ahead to what can be.

 

With the very exciting news lately announced, Toyota will be introducing an advanced B-spec chassis and updated RVX-05 engine for their home GP in Japan.

 

Mike Gascoyne has recently gone on record admitting it is a risk bringing the car in, having had limited testing, but a worthy one.

 

The team’s fourth position in the championship is under no real threat from ailing Williams, and the third snatched from under our feet during the spell of bad luck is still mathematically within reach.

 

Therefore the team is taking a rather all-or-nothing approach to the last 2 flyaway races, in a bid to make Ferrari’s worst season in recent history even more miserable.
