F1 with Toyota will be hard warns McNish

Former Toyota F1 pilot Allan McNish has publically warned 2003 driver, and 2002 CART champion Cristiano da Matta, to prepare himself for a tough debut season in the sport. The Scot described F1 as 'a big pool with sharks in it' - sour grapes from McNish ?

The team officially launch it's 2003 challenger, the TF103, tomorrow at Paul Ricard and the team is shining with confidence in the lead up to the big day.

Allan McNish feels that da Matta will do well, but has warned his replacement that he about to find out how hard F1 really is. "Who knows if Toyota took the right decision," McNish has been quoted as saying today. "da Matta will soon find out how hard the world of Formula 1 is, but I do want to wish him all the best."

"Lots of things are happening behind the scenes," he added. "Things happen that you'll never hear about in the media. Sometimes you hear things and because of that I already knew that my contract wouldn't be extended, before it was made public. It was great though to have reached Formula 1 and I learned a lot from it. Toyota is a very honest team."
