T-minus 7 days until Toyota launch

Toyota fans will not have forgotten this important date in the 2003 calendar. Today marks a 7 day countdown to the launch of the TF103 - the Toyota team's 2003 season challenger - and the signs are that the team wants to improve on their first season.

In 2003, the teams second competitive season of Formula 1 motorsport, Toyota will have seasoned driver Olivier Panis and CART champion Cristiano da Matta at the wheel of their new car. During 2002, the equally seasoned Mika Salo scored 2 World Championship points with 2 sixth placed finishes in Melbourne and San Marino. With the introduction of a new points system for 2003 the Toyota team hope to socre better this season, and team boss Ove Andersson believes the team have the car to do just that.

"I have a feeling that the new car will be better in every way," Andersson has been quoted as saying by several web based news sources. "I hope we'll be in a position to fight for points in every race. That is the step that everyone, internally and externally will expect from us, so we quite simply must do it."
