Toyota driver Ralf Schumacher belives older brother Michael Schumacher can pip current WDC Fernando Alonso and win the 2006 world title.
Ralfs comments come as the Formula 1 circus moves into the final few races of the season, a critical stage for this years World Championship battle between Renault driver and current World Champion Fernando Alonso and Ferrari driver and 7 times world champion Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher currently trails Alonso by 13 points in the standings and with time running out ther German needs to try and hunt down Alonso quickly if he wants to win the title. The title that could be the difference between Schumacher staying on in Formula 1 or retiring.
But Ralf has faith in his older brother and believes that Michael can snatch the title from under Alonso's nose. Speaking on Toyota's website Ralf said:
"It will be interesting. Some people are saying that it could be a disadvantage for Renault because Michelin is leaving F1, but I don't think so. I'm sure they are strong and still working hard on finishing the season in a good way. So I don't see it as a disadvantage.''
"But, having said that, Bridgestone is working exceptionally well and I think the evidence of that has been clear in the last few races. We'll have to wait and see."
Ralf continued in saying: "If Michael and Ferrari have an advantage in the remaining races I can certainly see Michael winning the Championship, and I actually think he will."
