Race: Lewis 3rd In Ferrari Dominated Grand Prix

July 2 2007

The Race was largely uneventful, current championship Lewis Hamilton unable to challenge the dominant Ferrari’s. Fernando Alonso on the other hand was having a much harder time of getting through the field after he started a lowly and disappointing 10th on the grid, the Spaniard managed to gain three places during the race, netting him two points.

The McLaren team will surly be disappointed, but may be stronger in next week’s British Grand Prix, as the team will have learnt from their mistakes and will hopefully be able to take the fight to Ferrari, on McLaren’s and Lewis’s home soil.

Just seconds into the race, Anthony Davidson and Vitantonio Liuzzi collided at the first corner ending both their races, Kimi Räikkönen stole second place from Lewis Hamilton at the start, and Lewis was never able to get anywhere near the Fin from that point.

Fernando Alonso was unable to get far up the field during the race, he attempted to pass Nick Heidfeld, but was unsuccessful. The second stops came into play which changed the outcome of the race, Kimi Räikkönen managed to get ahead of his team mate Felipe Massa, the Fin winning the race.
