Coulthard wants to Drive for Red Bull in 2007

David Coulthard, now 35 and about to embark on his 13th season in F1, has said that he has not even contemplated retirement from F1, and aims to secure a contract to drive the Adrian Newey penned RB3 in 2007.

Coulthard insists that his motivation is not diminishing and a move into the management side of F1 is not something he is thinking about - "I haven’t considered it because it means thinking about it, and thinking about it means thinking about retiring. I think about testing at Barcelona next week, I think about racing at Monte Carlo… I just think about the year ahead."

“You know, I don’t think [Fernando] Alonso or Kimi Raikkonen think what they’re going to do after they retire from F1, and so I have to have the same mindset if I want to achieve anything.”

Speaking at the Autosport International show at the NEC on Saturday, DC also commented, "I'm stuck on thirteen wins which isn't a nice number - obviously if I hadn't moved over a couple of times for someone else then I would have had more. But I’d like to add a 14th, and all my victories have been in Adrian’s cars. The motivation is to be in a 2007 car which he has played his part in, so I need to get my finger out and try to do a good job this year.”
