23/7/03. On Monday night Jaguar F1 driver Mark Webber opened the premiere of Terminator 3: Rise of the machines by driving his F1 car through Leicester Square.
Supposedly the first time an F1 car has driven on the streets of London
The Terminator 3-liveried F1 car wheel-span it’s way into Leicester Square in front of 8,000 screaming fans.
Here’s what Mark had to say about the experience, "It was an exhilarating experience and very different to anything I have done on the race track! The crowds were simply unbelievable and the noise they were making was almost louder than what the Jaguar F1 car was generating! I drove the car from one end of Leicester Square to the other and parked it up next to the red carpet where the stars and celebrities were making their entrance."
"There wasn’t the space to go too fast but I couldn’t resist spinning the wheels and giving the crowds something to really cheer about. Arnold Schwarzenegger was a guest of Jaguar’s at the British Grand Prix and his presence there was simply unbelievable. Having seen the T3 movie last night, it is not hard to see why he is such a mega-star."
Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived at the premiere in a black Jaguar XJ saloon while his nemesis in the movie played by the unbelievably hot Kristanna Loken arrived in a polished aluminium XJ – the only one of it’s kind in the world.
