I take it most people here have no personal experience of what a dreadful, dreary, contrived place Milton Keynes is? Think of the worst thing you can, it's a bit like that, only worse.

What a terrible place to have a factory.

It has a great shopping centre, good places to eat, entertainment etc etc. My son has been working there after working in London and says how lovely it is to be able to see greenery from his office window while being able to get to the shops in 5 minutes. For us it is the main place for major stores.

But - the roads are dire and there are too many roundabouts! I wouldn't want to live there but know plenty of people who do and love it.

it makes sense to me

large companies always want to buy/lease space that is cheap so you keep overheads down etc. Like when google moved recently, it was in new york but somewhere much much cheaper

anyways

Go keys!
Alicia not Milton! haha

Its a good place to own a tyre fitters - all those roundabouts cause lots of wear on the outside shoulder of your tyres, necessitating early replacement!

MK could never be described as glamorous, but there are certainly worse places in the country.

Dunno about Bradford. Bath is a cracking place. None are a patch on my home town of Totnes though. Voted by time magazine as one of the top 10 funkiest places on the planet, it is the birth place of Britain and therefore of the civilized world (no, it really is).

Plus, we've got a keebab shop now. Gurt lush.

Totnes? Ozzy I did a town study there for my A level geography.... not terribly impressive then but if it is indeed as you say now it must have changed an awful lot in 30+ years!

That will be why you tell people you don't like to go to Hull. Or maybe when things are tough you have been to Hull and back.

Totnes in the 80s was not that groovy but it is now. It's all drum therapy and street music covering up the usual English understory of alcoholism and casual violence.
