Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that Mark Webber’s contract has been extended, meaning the Australian will continue to drive for the team in 2011.
As Sebastian Vettel is already contracted to the team for next year, this announcement confirms Red Bull Racing's 2011 driver line-up.
Mark Webber:
"It was an easy decision to remain with Red Bull Racing. We began talking very early this year and were in a position to sign by the Barcelona Grand Prix. The decision to extend for a further year was a mutual one; it's widely know that I'm not interested in hanging around in Formula One just for the sake of it and at this stage of my career, I'm happy to take one year at a time. I continue to feel very comfortable here - I have a fantastic relationship with the whole team and the factory at Milton Keynes feels like home. It's been incredible to be part of the team as it's moved forward from a mid-field competitor to one that is challenging for the Championship. I hope we experience more success together in the future and achieve our ultimate goal of winning the World Championship."
Christian Horner:
"The decision to retain Mark was very straightforward. He is an important member of our team and is currently in the best form of his career, as the current leader of the Drivers' Championship. The team is extremely happy that the driver pairing of Mark and Sebastian will remain unchanged for a third season in 2011."

apparently mark webber signed his renewal in barcelona. it would be interesting to speculate what would've happened if we were to fast forward to last sunday?
the fact remains that he will be there in '11 and hopefully pushing the limits for another season. it is really great news, but please break the news gently to vettel. hahaa
That Press Release is back to front. It should read:

RBR Sign With Webber For 2011
Mark Webber is pleased to announce that he has extended RBR's contract with him.
RBR said:
Everyone knows we are not hanging around in F1 simply waiting for Kimi to make his mind up. The decision to accept Mark's offer was a mutual one, bearing in mind we had no real alternative.

The decision to retain RBR was very straightforward. RBR is an important source of my income and I didn't really fancy getting shafted by a bunch of Italians. Plus the fact that the Ferrari is a sh&^box right now.
I think it is a bad decision by webber to stay on. The guy was blamed and crucified by the entire management at redbull, and they didnt even bother to hide their bias towards vettel, yet webber stays on.
I mean money is important, but not when he has already earnt a decent salary and there are other options available, even if not as lucrative as redbull. Far rather he drive a car to the limit in midfield than play second fiddle to vettel and his management.
K1 this deal was done after/during barcelona.it's old news really and the turkey disaster had no bearing on what webber did or didn't do re his contract
It's not old news since it was only just released.
it is old news for webber and RBR. it is totally divorced from the previous hoo har re vettel etc. what i am saying is that his decision cannot be influenced by turkey as some people think it may have.
