Webber can be World Champion

Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber can win the Formula One World Championship, at least according to the legendary Sir Jack Brabham.

Sir Jack, Australia's first world champion driver, has seen Webber take 32 points from the last four races, 13 more than championship leader Jenson Button has managed at Brawn GP, and believes that trend could continue.

"I certainly believe that Mark Webber can go all the way and win the world championship... providing the car holds up," Brabham said to the Australian Associated Press. "It's fantastic to see Webber up there; he's doing a great job. You know, we've given Mark as much encouragement as we could as he's come along, and it's lovely to see him doing well."

Webber now stands just 18.5 points behind the Button, with 70 points still available. Crucially for the Australian, he's also ahead of team mate Sebastian Vettel, a key target as the season moves on and teams make decisions to back a single driver for glory.

Brabham, a three-time F1 World Champion, is currently undergoing thrice-weekly dialysis treatment in hospital as a result of kidney failure. We wish him well for the future.
