Red Bull Racing’s Innovation Partner, Platform Computing won the Business Applications category in the Information Age Awards 2008, announced this month. Their video demonstrates how their software running on Red Bull's IT infrastructure is used by the team to process data.
Steve Little, Strategic Account Manager at Platform Computing said: “Platform Computing offer Red Bull Technology the computing power it demands to create the speed and efficiencies it needs to excel on the track and we are extremely pleased to have won this award with Red Bull Racing.”
In the film, team principal Christian Horner and business development manager Steve Nevey explain the (really very complex) role Platform’s systems play in processing all the information from the teams aerodynamic simulation.
As Steve said: “The great thing about Platform is that they came in as a true innovation partner, not a supplier of technology but a partner who was able to understand our problems and provide appropriate solutions to us and still work with us, continuously helping to improve our performance.”
