Crazy Caz Spanish Grand Prix Trip 2008

Well here I am back from the Spanish Grand Prix. Had an excellent time. The weather was nice apart from some rain on the 1st and last day. Hotel was really nice and we went all inclusive, so plenty to eat a drink! We went to Barcelona for the day on Friday, with our usual friends and went to the same Irish bar as we did a couple of years ago, it seems to be a tradition now.
Went to the track on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday started good with DC being 2nd in free practice. I was doing general admission and met my friend Tanya after the free practice and we saw our friends from Select motor racing and they let us have their grandstand tickets to watch the Quali, which was not too good for DC, apparently I found out afterwards that DC had the wrong tyres on his car.
Arrived at the track on Sunday, and the weather was pretty hot and it was very busy. Went to the F1 village and brought a new DC cap. I was disappointed that there were no driver signings at the Red Bull stand. Watched the driver’s parade and no sign of DC on it, which I was surprised by and of course did not know why until I got home.
We sat near a large screen so had a good view of the race. The race started good with Kimi getting a good start. We saw the crash of Kovalainen on the TV screen which looked pretty bad, but when he was put on the stretcher he put his thumb up to show us that he was ok and we all clapped.
DC’s race was going well until he had the tangle with Glock. This put him way down the grid. Alonso was having a good race in front of his home crowd, until his car had smoke coming out at the back and finally had to stop when his car caught on fire, which disappointed the home fans and actually some of them got up and left, but he did go up to the fence to see the supporters, then a scooter came and picked him up and he waved to the crowd.
Mark Webber had a good race finally getting 5th place, so not too bad for the team. So not a bad race. Here are some of my pics.
You probably heard the rumor about DC, and for your sake I hope it isn't true, HOWEVER!!! If it is, it is quite fitting that you were at the race, number 1 fan and all!

Very true, but somehow I think this is just rumour and nothing else. I can't see them dropping DC at this early stage of the season, bearing in mind that some of the damage to DC's car this season, which has caused his lack of pace was not his fault.

At 12 Euro's a time for a beer, I brought a new DC cap instead LOL
