Valencia Test 15:02:2006 Day Two

On a clear day the WilliamsF1 team would continue their Valencia test with Nico Rosberg taking over from Alex Wurz. At the end of the day it would again be a WilliamsF1 FW28 that was at the top of the times, courtesy of Nico Rosberg.

WebberNico would set a time of 1m:10.994 as he completed a race simulation for the team while he worked on testing tyre compounds for tyre supplier Bridgestone. This was despite feeling unwell during the day. Nico would also continue work on the teams new seamless gearbox that the team are developing.

After been fastest on the previous day Mark would drop down to finish sixth with a best time of 1m:11.584, which was over half a second slower than his earlier time.

WilliamsF1 Technical Director Sam Michael commented on the days testing by saying: "Today Nico and Mark were driving in Valencia. It was a good day for testing with an air temperature of 21°C and track temperature of 28°C. This puts us close to some of the early GP's in terms of getting the tyre compounds in the correct window for Bridgestone. Nico spent the day on long runs for reliability and testing tyres. Mark was testing some new brake components that are interesting. Unfortunately he had to stop earlier than planned.

Tomorrow Alex will join Nico for the final day of this week’s test.
