Future undecided for Berger

Gerhard BergerFor ex-Formula One driver Gerhard Berger since his retirement he has been involved in BMW's return to Formula One in the position of BMW Motorsport Director. In that time he has since the combination of the WilliamsF1 team and BMW achieve successes and in 2002 the are well on the way to achieving second in the constructors championship.

But for Berger his time with BMW may come to an end as he contemplates his future as the Director of BMW’s Motorsport Programme, as his contract expires at the end of 2002.

Berger told Germany’s “AZ” newspaper that he could end his term with Bavaria and indeed stop working in Formula One altogether. Berger said: ‘The job of a Motorsport Director can't be for the rest of my life. In the winter, I'll make the decision if I will extend my contract with BMW, or if this is the right time to quit."

"I definitely can't imagine taking another job on the F1 scene."
