Australian Mark Webber returned to testing, replacing Alex Wurz, at the WilliamsF1's four day test at Jerez. Both drivers would spend their day performing tyre tests for Bridgestone while also practicing pit stops. Mark would finish the day eighth quickest in the new FW28. In an interview for autosport.com Mark spoke of the new car and its Cosworth engine.

Webber"We need to work a bit on the balance of the car but Grove did a good job. It is a good car and so far I have had no problems with the gearbox, and the engine is bloody good. We need to tweak a bit but I am quite happy with that."

Mark's teammate Nico Rosberg, testing with a second FW28 chassis, would have problems during the day that would limit his running. He would complete only twenty nine laps and at one time his car was to stop out on the track. Nico was some 1.7 seconds slower than Mark.

WilliamsF1 Team Technical Director Sam Michael commented on the days testing.

Michael said: “Today Mark and Nico were driving the FW28s. Mark spent the morning working on a tyre construction test for Bridgestone which confirmed our direction for short term development. He then switched to pitstop practices with the race team in the afternoon. Nico did the opposite, working on pitstops in the morning and long runs on tyre compounds for Bridgestone later in the day.”
