Webber joins Rosberg at Jerez Test

WilliamsF1 driver Mark Webber would return to testing, joining Nico Rosberg at the teams Jerez Test. Both drivers would continue with the teams test schedule but Nico would suffer from technical problems with his car during the course of the day.

On another clear but cool day the WilliamsF1 team completed their second day of their Jerez Test. This time it would be team driver Mark Webber who would join Nico Rosberg, replacing new WilliamsF1 test driver Alex Wurz.

WebberMark would complete forty one laps on the day with a best lap time of 1m:18.832, which put him second fastest of the V8 powered drivers in fifth. Nico would complete fifty laps, with a time of 1m:19.038, to be in seventh.

But for Nico it was again a day that would see him suffer from further mechanical problems with his car. He would lose time during the day as his mechanics tried to sort out electronic problems with his car.

WilliamsF1 Technical Director Sam Michael commented on the days testing:
“Nico was joined by Mark in Jerez today for the second day of the test. Both drivers had a productive morning working through various se-up changes and aero tests. This afternoon, we experienced some gearbox problems that are minor in terms of the solution required, but they caused us to lose track time in the afternoon. Mark will continue his programme tomorrow and Alex will be back in the other car.”
