encouraging session for the team.
After

Schumacher, with Ralf Schumacher in third. With five minutes of the session
run no cars had taken to the track. The first driver out would be Red Bull
Racing's Tonio Liuzzi. He would be joined by Massa, Raikkonen, and the
Jordan's of Tiago Monteiro and Narain Karthikeyan. Villeneuve and Montoya
would also come out. The first time was set by Luizzi with a time of
1m:19.595. Massa would easily beat this with a time of 1m:16.649 to go
fastest. But the McLaren of Raikkonen would go fastest with a time of
1m:15.677. Montoya was in second with a 1m:16.298 but Massa would jump into
this spot with a 1m:16.188.
Kimi would improve with a time of 1m:15.435 while Michael Schumacher would
move into second with a time of 1m:15.584. But Kimi would find extra pace
going even faster with a time of 1m:15.204. Fisichella had take to the track
and he would eventually move into second with a time of 1m:15.315. Michael
would pit. massa and Villeneuve were in fifth and sixth. Montoya was in
fourth with Coulthard fifth. Ralf was in eighth with a time of 1m:16.841.
Coulthard would improve his time with a 1m:15.949 but remained in fifth.
Trulli was now in ninth. neither BMW WilliamsF1 driver had taken to the
track with fifteen minutes of the session run. Mark would be the first out
joined by Barrichello. Mark's first lap would see him in tenth with a time
of 1m:17.298, two seconds off the pace. Mark would improve his time with a
1m:17.053 but was still in tenth.
Ralf would set a time of 1m:15.908 to now be in seventh. Luizzi had set a
stunning time of 1m:15.546 to move into third behind Fisichella. Rubens was
now in sixth with a time of 1m:15.808. mark was now down in twelfth with
Nick yet to come out. Alonso would make his first appearance of the session.
Rubens would move into third with a time of 1m:15.400. Team-mate Michael
would come back out again.
In his first lap Alonso would jump to the top of the times with a
stunning.1m:15.030, to be 0.174 ahead of Kimi with twenty minutes of the
session remaining. Coulthard and Luizzi were now in fifth and sixth. Michael
and Montoya were in seventh and eighth. Nick would finally make an
appearance as Fisichella moved into second with a time of 1m:15.048. But
Kimi Raikkonen was not going to give up setting the quickest time with a sub
1m:15 second lap, a 1m:14.462.
Nick
was now in fourth with a time of 1m:15.253. Kimi's time at the top would be
short as Ralf would set an even faster time with a 1m:14.280. Montoya was in
fifth with a 1m:15.083. Mark was now down in fourteenth with fifteenth
minutes remaining. Trulli moved into sixth with a time of 1m:15.087. Nick
was now in seventh. The Ferrari's of Barrichello and Michael were in ninth
and eleventh.
Michael would improve to now be in ninth, with a time of 1m:15.378. Mark
would pull a quick lap out setting a time of 1m:15.067 to now be in fifth.
Alonso and Fisichella were in third and fourth, as we moved into the final
ten minutes of the session. Nick was now in eighth. Tiago Monteiro would
spin his Jordan bringing out the yellow flags. In his attempt to return to
the track he would put his car into the barrier.
With five minutes of the session remaining little had changed at the top of
the times but there was the usual flurry of activity in the closing minutes
of the session. Alonso was now on a quick lap but with a poor final sector
would fail to improve. Joining Ralf and Kimi in the 1m:14 second bracket was
now Montoya with a time of 1m:14.672 to move into third. With the fastest
final sector Mark would move into fourth with a time of 1m:14.689. |
