For WilliamsF1
team head Frank Williams the 2005 season has seen the team struggle, despite
achieving a third place in Malaysia, to produce the results that were
expected. But despite this he still views his team as one of the tops teams
in Formula One and supports the teams drivers for their efforts so far this
season.
Williams,
on the BMW WilliamsF1 web site spoke of his and Mark Webber and Nick
Heidfeld. Despite their poor performance at the recent San Marino Grand
Prix, where the team did not score a point, Williams still rates his team
highly.
As for the teams
performance at Imola Williams felt that the team should not dwell on this
race but focus on continually improving the performance of the FW27. Williams said:
"Last weekend‘s race in Imola was very disappointing for the team. There
were a number of reasons why Nick and Mark finished where they did, most of
which are self-evident, including the inability to overtake the Toyotas.
We can not, however, dwell on the result in Imola so we are now looking
forward to the forthcoming round in Barcelona next weekend and achieving a
better result there. Our ability to catch up with the front-runners will
very much depend on the amount of additional performance we can bring to the
car every race, we know this is our task so this is what we are doing."
As for the
performance of the team Williams added: “We’re still a top team but for
several years, we’ve been hampered by the problem that it takes us several
races before our cars are able to battle for the victory.
“It has been the same this year. Once again, our rivals have done a better
job during the off-season.”
As for the performance of the teams drivers Frank was full of praise for
their efforts.
He added: “Mark and Nick aren’t as experienced as their predecessors were.
But they work harder and are more passionate.” |
