Zanardi returns to F1 cockpit

Ex WilliamsF1 driver Alex Zanardi was able to return to the cockpit of a Formula One car when he was able to sit in the teams FW27. It has also been rumoured that Alex may complete a demonstration run for the team.

The Italian tried out the cockpit of a FW27 at Imola for size and may get a run-out at next month's European Grand Prix.

"I drove a car like this for years, so I'm not afraid nor I will get emotional," Zanardi told Gazzetta dello Sport. "At the time it looked like it could be difficult to get in the car because of the width of the opening under the steering wheel, so that some modification might be needed. Instead I fit in almost perfectly, my movements are almost regular, so I will just have to get used to it again. I can't wait to drive it, it will be real fun."
