Pizzonia set to stay with WilliamsF1

Reports in the media had current BMW WilliamsF1 test driver Antonio Pizzonia looking at moving to the United States to pursue a drive in the Champ Car series. But now Frank Williams has made it clear that he does not want the Brazilian to leave the team.

The WilliamsF1 team will not release him from his contract as they want to make sure that the team has an alternative to Nick Heidfeld, if the German fails to deliver.

Williams said: "We want him to stay on board. Nick may let us down, and we may then want to put Antonio in. If he was offered another race chance in Formula One then there's no way we would hold him back, but with Champ Cars we will not look at it favourably because we need him as a test driver."
