The second day
of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya for the BMW WilliamsF1 team would see
Nick Heidfeld join Mark Webber. On a cold but sunny day both drivers would
continue the teams development of components for the FW27.
For
Nick it would again see him under the spot light as the team continued to
evaluate both the German and the Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia.
At the end of
the days testing the WilliamsF1 drivers would be on top of the times with
Mark heading Nick by three tenths. Webber would suffer from technical
problems with the suspension of his car which would limit the amount of laps
that the drivers would complete. Both drivers would focus on the evaluation
of traction control systems, including a number of simulated race starts.
Mark would complete thirty five 35 laps with a bets lap time of 1m:16.631,
while Nick completed thirty four laps, with a best time of 1m:16.978.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim Newton commented: “Mark and Nick were on
duty for the team today and recorded the quickest times of the session this
morning. However, a technical problem with the suspension put an early end
to the day’s schedule. The guys at the factory are currently investigating
the problem, as soon as they have rectified the situation we will be back on
track.“
Antonio Pizzonia will join Nick Heidfeld tomorrow. |
