2005 P85 engine going to plan

It has been reported on the BMW WilliamsF1 web site that the development of the 2005 P85 engine is going ahead on schedule. BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen spoke of the efforts in place to get the engine ready for the 2005 season.

Theissen made it clear that all those involved in the engine development were working towards the first on-track tests of the engine. The P85 engine will be the sixth engine that has come from BMW since their return to Formula One.

Dr Theissen said: “We are already executing intensive test stand tests. We have introduced the latest spec of the P84 engine at Monza, and since then we have focused on the development for 2005. Everything is running according to plan.”
