| The BMW
commenced a three day test session at the Monza circuit with both Juan Pablo
Montoya and Antonio Pizzonia sharing the testing duties. This was the teams
first opportunity to test some of the modifications that had been made to
the FW26 during the recent testing ban.
WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim Newton said: "We had some good running today with Juan Pablo and Antonio completing 93 and 83 laps respectively. Both cars were on a similar programme and tested some new aero parts, tyres and brakes. Juan and Antonio will be on duty again tomorrow and Friday. We have more work to do, but we are satisfied with what we have achieved today.” |

For
Antonio this test would give further time at the Monza track, now that it
was announced that he would be replacing Ralf Schumacher for the three days
of testing as well as the Italian Grand Prix. The test was conducted in
sunny conditions with Juan Pablo working on tyre testing while Antonio
focused in testing on aerodynamic modifications as well as brakes.
