It has been reported that Ralf Schumacher will not be making his return to racing at the next Grand Prix in Hungary. His recovery has not reached a point where it would be OK for him to take to the track again. There is even a chance he may miss the race in Belgium.

| It was
previously reported that BMW WilliamsdF1 driver Ralf Schumacher was hoping
to make his return to the track at the Hungarian Grand Prix, after he had
recovered from his back injuries sustained when he crashed in the United
States Grand Prix.
But
in an interview in the German press, the Bild newspaper, Ralf's manager said
that Ralf's injuries had not yet fully recovered and that it is still too
early for Ralf to return for the Hungarian race. It also cast doubt over
whether he will be able to take part in the following Grand Prix in Belgium.
Webber said: "Ralf's bone thickness was measured and it was established that
the two broken vertebrae were not yet as hardened as is normally the case.
"Another accident like the one in Indianapolis and Ralf could be made a
paraplegic. Nobody could accept that."
Ralf is still in the hands of his doctors and his return comes down to them
giving their go ahead. Ralf added: "I feel good but it's no doubt better for
me to listen to the doctors," he said.
It is expected that the BMW WilliamsF1 team will announce this Friday who
would replace Ralf in Hungary. It is expected that Antonio Pizzonia will
again drive for the team. |
