Juan Pablo Montoya would improve from his Friday times to be 5th in third British practice. Team-mate Gene was in tenth. Fastest in this session was Kimi Raikkonen. Neither Minardi would take to the track after Minardi sporting director John Walton died Friday night from a heart attack.

| The
opening Saturday practice at Silverstone would see Juan Pablo reverse
the order in which the BMW WilliamsF1 drivers finished Friday practice.
This time it would be Juan Pablo who would lead team-mate Marc Gene. The
Colombian was fifth while Marc was down in tenth.
Next came BAR's Jenson
Button who, like Raikkonen, limited his track time completing only six
laps. But he would finish with a time just 0.153 seconds behind
Raikkonen. In third and fourth would be the Ferrari's of Michael
Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. Michael would have a spin at
Brooklands. |

At
the top of the times it would be McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen who would
continue to set the pace at Silverstone. Even though he put only five
laps on his Mercedes Benz engine his time of 1m:19.315 would be enough
to see him fastest.
