Trouble final French practice for Juan Pablo.

It would be a trouble final practice for Juan Pablo at Magny-Cours. He would set the slowest time after having been able to cpmplete just eight laps with a problem with his car. Marc Gene was in eleventh.

   
French GP Saturday 2nd Practice
 
The second Saturday practice session at Magny-Cours would not go well for the BMW WilliamsF1 team with Juan Pablo setting the slowest time of the session as he struggled with a problem with his car that would see him complete just eight laps. Team-mate Marc Gene would finish the session in eleventh.

GeneFor the McLaren team the session would be very encouraging with Kimi Raikkonen setting the fastest time in his new MP4-19B. It was revealed that he had a clutch problem with his car in the previous session. He would set a time of 1m:14.513 to be well ahead of the best set by Michael Schumacher.

In second came BAR's Jenson Button by 0.055 seconds with Michael Schumacher third. Backing up Button was team-mate Takuma Sato in fourth. Next came Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello in fifth and Toyota's Olivier Panis sixth fastest.

Toyota team-mate Cristiano da Matta showed that the TF104 was competitive by ending the session in seventh place. McLaren's David Coulthard and the Renault pair of Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso completed the top-ten.

Sauber's Giancarlo Fisichella would end his session in the barriers when the front suspension broke on his car as he ran across the kerbs at the final chicane. After this second session drivers would have to finalise their tyre choices for qualifying and the race.
