After a difficult Friday the opening Saturday practice at the
Nürburgring would see both BMW WilliamsF1 drivers improve their times,
with Ralf second and Juan Pablo fourth.
Both Schumacher brothers were to have moments during the session when they ran wide. Friday's fastest driver Kimi Raikkonen finished sixth ahead of the Renault pair Jarno Trulli Fernando Alonso. Rubens Barrichello finished ninth fastest while Frenchman Olivier Panis completed the top ten in his Toyota, finishing 1.763 seconds off the lead pace. For McLaren's David Coulthard he would fail to set a time. It was announced that Jaguar's Mark Webber will have one second added to his fastest qualifying time today, as penalty for ignoring yellow flags in yesterday's free practice session, while Felipe Massa's Sauber was being removed from the track. |
