Again it was Michael Schumacher who was fastest with a time of 1m:14.741. Next came BAR-Honda test driver Anthony Davidson, who was 0.4 seconds behind in second. Ferrari team-mate Rubens Barrichello was third. Renault's Jarno Trulli was fourth, McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen and encouraging fifth while Jenson Button would drop down the times to be sixth. Right behind was team-mate Takuma Sato in seventh. Toyota's Ricardo Zonta and Renault's Fernando Alonso were eighth and ninth. Juan Pablo would complete the top ten. Out on the track several
driver would find the going difficult with Jaguar's Bjorn Wirdheim
crashing at Tabac when he slid wide. Davidson would have a big lock up
of his brakes going into Sainte Devote. He was able to keep his car off
