On a day that would see wet weather hamper the teams test programme it would be BMW WilliamsF1 driver Ralf Schumacher who would finish the day fastest. The WilliamsF1 team was on their second day of testing at Silverstone in preparation for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Ralf SchumacherOf all the teams present the WilliamsF1 team would be the only one to complete any significant mileage. Joining Ralf was test driver Marc Gene. Marc would finish in second. Ralf would complete fifty two laps, with a best lap time of 1m:30.282, while Marc completed fifty seven laps with a best time of 1m:30.997.

Given the conditions both Ralf and Marc would spend the day conducting wet weather testing, working through various setups on the FW26 and also conducting further tyre testing for Michelin.

WilliamsF1 Test Team Manager Tim Newton commented on the days testing. He said: "Despite less than perfect conditions at Silverstone today, Ralf and Marc managed to set the fastest times of the day and complete the most laps. With a wet track at our disposal, we worked on developing our wet race strategies and testing Michelin’s full and intermediate wet tyres. We also completed some systems and electronics checks on the FW26 in preparation for Barcelona."
