| Australian GP Saturday 4th Practice | |
The
second Saturday practice session would see Juan Pablo and Ralf finish in
second and third. Juan Pablo would set a time of 1m:25.255 to be only
0.1sec behind Michael Schumacher. Juan Pablo would only lose his time to
Michael in the final sector.During the break between the two sessions the WilliamsF1 mechanics were seen doing considerable amount of work on Montoya's FW26. The FW26 appeared to be far more stable and this was shown in the times that were set. Neither McLaren would perform well, with Raikkonen and Coulthard down in ninth and tenth. Raikkonen would have a big moment at Turn twelve, like many others, but was able to keep in away from the barriers and return to the track. The
fight between the tyre manufacturers would see Bridgestone still at the
front but Bridgestone was only put in this position by the Ferrari team.
The other Bridgestone runners were no where to be seen, whereas Michelin
had their teams at the front.Interesting fact that even though the teams are not allowed to run ABS they can have the engine slightly advance the throttle to keep the back wheels turning so hopefully avoiding spinning the car. Now comes the qualifying sessions and based on the times that both Juan Pablo and Ralf have et it looks very encouraging. |
