Montoya walks out of news conference

For BMW WilliamsF1 driver the lead-up to this weekends Australian Grand Prix did not get off to a good start, when the Colombian walked out of a press conference.

Montoya is not impressed. The event, organised by team sponsor Allianz, was to see Juan Pablo answer questions. But he would become far from impressed with the behaviour of supposed 'reporters' from the local television station Channel Seven.

He was asked several nonsensical questions and was also interrupted by one of the same individuals who stood up to answer a mobile phone. This was repeated by a second person. This was suppose to be humorous except Juan Pablo was not taking it this way. Juan Pablo said: "Either he stops or I walk off."

Unfortunately for those present the individual continued with his behaviour and the end result saw Juan Pablo leave the meeting. As he was leaving he was asked if he was free to play a round of golf with his mother. Despite the efforts of others Juan Pablo would not return to the room.

Allianz Australia chief general manager Greg Fisher said: "I guess Juan didn't appreciate the Australian sense of humour. We had a lot of important corporate clients and basically it has ruined the day for them.

"It's part of reality TV I guess these days but Juan didn't appreciate the sense of humour and understandably rather than making any embarrassing comment he decided to end the press conference."
