| As part of
the increasing popularity of Formula One several countries have put in bids
to host races. Two countries that have been able to turn these bids into
reality are those of Bahrain and China.
Both nations will be hosting
races as part of the 2004 Formula One season. Bahrain is the third round of
the Championship on April 4th while China's race is on September 26th. Both
the new circuits are the work of German designer Hermann Tilke. |

Juan Pablo Montoya added his
view of the new race. He said:
"Obviously this is the first time we will race in Bahrain so no one knows
anything about the track. Everyone will be on a total learning curve when we
get there, so it’s going to be pretty interesting, but exciting too. I know
a few of the drivers have visited the track and given it the thumbs up. It’s
a Tilke-designed circuit so it should be one of the best on the calendar. As
long as it’s fast and challenging, I’ll be happy!"
Another person to visit the new
facility was Eddie Jordan. He also expressed his positive view of the
circuit. He said: "I am amazed at this place. It's almost beyond description
actually. It is going to provide drivers with overtaking opportunities and
will, I'm sure, provide the global television audience and spectators with a
sensational race." |
